I will be implementing what I like to call the "LJ Rule" from here on out. This rule is a maximum of 10 picks per day. I'm hoping this will lead to players only posting their most quality picks and allowing for a short analysis to be posted with each pick. If more than 10 picks are posted I will take only the first 10 picks listed. I hope this is ok with everyone and LJ I hope you have a good sense of humor. --RH

There is a new stat Column labeled "D". This column will keep track of how many days in a row a player has not made a pick. If this number gets to 10 then that player will be removed from the board. I will keep the stats so that if this player comes back and starts picking again their record will return to the board. Let me know if you all have any questions. I think this is needed so that a player doesn't pick once and then disappear with a 100% record. --RH

Also Lakers to cover the spread -6 tonight in game 1.
I'm liking the over 10 in BOS/Det, and the over 8.5 in the first WASH/SF game. Taking SF and Matt Cain to win the 2nd game, and MIN, FLOR, HOU, and TB to win all at home with the upper hand in pitching. Also going against the grain and taking the over in NYY/TEX which has dropped a whole run down to 10.5.

Here we go for Thursty Thursday... Im stayin with Pelfrey and the NY Mets after the rainout last night... Goin with the White Sox and Buerle who has been a stud all season!! Also takin the Rays for the same reason as last night... Royals on the road and add in Shields on the mound for the Rays at Tropicana. I also like Randy Johnson and San Fran in the write-in game. Last but not least, Wandy Rodriguez and the Astros. Houston on a 4 game roll and Wandy owns the Rockies !!!

First an observation: In the past 7 days (excluding Sunday) the Top Pick from the Group is 2-4 and the Top 3 (plus ties) are 12-10...for your betting information.
Here are my picks today. I've generally waited until more have posted to avoid the Top 3, but with games starting in 20 mins, I wanted to post my thoughts for the day.
1. Rangers over Yankees - Wang makes me nervous today and McCarthy has been good this year. Rangers as a dog here is good value at +150.
2. Twins over Indians - Twins good at home, Indians not good.
3. White Sox over A's - Buehrle stops the bleeding on the South Side.
4. Rays over Royals - Rays good at home and Royals remembering they are in fact, the Royals.
5. Giants over Nationals (Game 1) - Big Unit makes Big effort to get 300 with the team playing with extra energy for the milestone.
6. Astros over Rockies - Wandy is good at home and against Colorado. I normally avoid 2 bad teams, but I like this one.
7. Cardinals over Reds - Largest favorite of the day everywhere you look. Cards look to even the series with Carpenter, who has done well since coming off the DL.
