Razor's Picks:
1. Magic +1.5. Sorry Cavs fans but the Magic are just better.
2. Astros over the Reds. I'm not a fan of Micah Owings and he got lit up his last outing. Oswalt has struggled some this season, but I like the Astros to get their bats going against Owings and Oswalt pitching well enough to pick up the win here.
3. Mets over the Nats. Livo has been a huge surprise so far this season for the Mets and he'll continue against the nats tonight. Once again.....it's the Nats.
4. Cubs over the Pirates. The Cubs snap out of it tonight as Marshall gives them a strong start. The Cubs bats came to life yesterday and with Snell pitching for the Pirates those bats should remain lively.
5. Dodgers over Rockies. Rockies as a -160 favorite over the Dodgers even with Milton pitching is a joke. I'll take this one for pure value any day of the week.
6. Dbacks over the Padres. I love this Scherzer kid. Correia was not very good as a Giant and he continues to not be very good as a Padre.
7. Tigers over the Royals. Again a line I had to look twice at. The Royals are a -160 favorite and climbing. Yes I know it's Greinke going and he's the 2nd coming of Cy Young this year, but Edwin Jackson has been pitching incredibly so far this season and the Tigers are the best hitting team in baseball and by far the better team here. Take the Tigers for a very nice dog win here.
8. Canes take one from the Penguins.
Rez's Picks:
taking the Canes to avoid the sweep tomorrow, hopefully they can make something out of the pathetic series they're in.
I'll get most my picks up tomorrow but I wanted to throw in the Cavs -1.5 before the line changes and also a couple French Open picks..
I'll take Tsonga the beast in Men's at -275, and Alexsandra Wozniak in Women's at -182.. Just a couple early hopefully easy winners to start the day off right.
First off the Astros look like a sure thing to me with Oswalt being 23-1 vs. the Reds in his career.
Next I like the over 9.5 in TB/Cle with two shaky pitchers going at it plus the 23 runs scored last night was a pretty big indicator of their bullpens.
Next I am taking under 10.5 in NYY and Tex, call me crazy but I think these two pitchers are the best two for each team and will have a good duel.
I like under 7.5 in Det/KC with two stellar pitchers on the mound.
I like under 10.5 in LAD/Col as Cook has been playing well and no Todd Helton means less runs.
Finally I'll take the Angels and Giants both at home with two far superior pitchers on the mound.
Danno's Picks:
Goin with the Magic +1.5.... In MLB goin with Cubs to snap out of the funk... Also takin Houston and Roy Oswalt... San Fran and Tim Linecaum... Arizona and the L.A Angels... Would jump on the wagon and take the Mets but it seems everytime I get on the consensus pick, I LOSE !! Good Luck Everyone !!!
Bunyah's Picks:
Mets
Tool's Picks:
Cleve -1.5
The real Cavs show up
Now or never!!
Under 188
The defense has to step up on both sides.
dodgers +142
Dankone's Picks:
EFlo's Picks:
A must win for the cavs -1.5...i am confident that they will win. to stay in game 3 while shooting 38 percent shows their prowess on defense. hopefully mo williams will finally play well. BTW the indians suck big time
BowlSnapper's Picks:
OK, back from vacation and ready to roll with 5 baseball money line plays today...
Texas over NY Yankees - Millwood pitches well enough to notch a W. ***pick
Minnesota over Boston - History is not kind to the Twins in this matchup, but Big Papi was a Twin killer - not anymore. ***pick
LA Angels over ChiSox - Colon hasn't put it together since leaving Anaheim and now he's back at the scene of the crime and the Angels are looking like, well...the Angels. *****pick
Oakland over the Mariners - Washburn goes today for the M's but he was hurting the last time out. This one has M's bullpen comes in the 3rd written all over it, and the over might be a good play. I don't feel confident about that, though. I prefer the side...A's win 3 in a row. ****pick
Speaking of bullpen starts, take a look at the Braves at Giants matchup. Who is that guy Medlen? Well, he's a rookie who got shelled at home by the Rockies in his major league debut. Tonight he goes up against last year's NL Cy Young winner Lincecum, who hasn't been getting the run support to win games. That might not be a problem tonight as Timmy's tough against the Bravos. Take SF on the money line. ****pick
Garsha's Pick:
Angels -1.5
BamaHammer's Picks:
Since I can not pick a thing.
going back with the Mets again.
KyleC's Picks:
Gotta go with the cavs at -1.5, big game and the win was guarenteed by Mo(not quite as good as a Sheed guarentee, but I will take it).
RedRaider's Picks:
I was going to take the Mets as well, but I watched them in person last night and they are struggling right now. Grant it they are playing the Nationals, but the last two picks that had all of us in a large consensus went south (Blue Jays and Rays). I'm avoiding Mets today.
My picks:
1. Dodgers over Rockies - It's kind of hard to bet against the Dodgers, and it's a good number at +138. The run line of -145 for +1.5 isn't bad either. I'm going with the ML for the value.
2. Diamondbacks over Padres - I think the Padres streak comes to an end. 10 games in a row is hard enough, but after that it gets very, very hard to keep winning. Scherzer has had 4 quality starts in his last 5 and pitched well on the road. Coming home gives him a win tonight.
3. Angels -1.5 over White Sox - Colon returns to Anaheim and can't come through. White Sox piled it on last night and will be a little lazy today while the Angels look for revenge. Saunders is having a good season to this point with 6 wins and a 3.17 ERA. If it weren't for Halladay and Greinke, this guy might be the front-runner to start the All-Star game for the AL. Bad number on the ML (-185) give the runs and get a better payout at +105.
4. Giants -1.5 - Good pitcher v. bad pitcher. Bad pitcher = rookie with 15.00 ERA. Good pitch = 3.45 ERA and last year's Cy Young winner. Again, give the runs and get the better number at +120 versus the ML at -170.
Good luck all!

Troy's Picks:
cavs money line
Boss's Picks:
Mets over nats hernandez the man
Brett's Picks:
Cleveland -1.5
Cleveland absolutely HAS to have this game if they want to win the series. I think if Z or West or Gibson can hit a couple open threes they will win this one. After all the refs are CLEARLY on their side.
Rays -119
Garza is on fire and you've got to figure the Rays will want some revenge for the other day's choke job.
Giants -175
Tempted to go run line but I'll play it safe - Lincecum should mow through the Braves bats. McCann is the only threat to him in that lineup. I predict 7 innings and 11Ks.
Houston -135
Roy Oswalt versus Micah Owings? I'll take that.

A note to LJ,
ReplyDeleteI didn't count any of those Tennis picks in the standings. I couldn't find the lines on those women's matches and the Roddick match was like -3000. If any of those woman's matches were -300 or less i'll count it, but I couldn't find those lines. Let me know.
A note to everyone picking games. Please keep your picks to -300 lined games or less if you want them to count in the standings.
Thanks,
RH
Just heard on sportscenter that the last time a team came back from a 6 run deficit in the 9th inning to win after trailing by 10 earlier in the game was 1901. 108 years of FUGGING baseball. Yes i'm a little bitter considering that was the only game I lost in a large 4 game parlay. DAMN YOU RAYS!!!!

ReplyDeleteHey guys,
ReplyDeleteToday I will have to take manchester united as a top pick.....no one has won the champions league in 2 consecutive years in the history of its competition, but I will be heavily favoring ronaldo and the boys today. I would take the lakers at the money line to be safe, cuz all of these playoff games tend to be quite "down to the wire". Have to go with doc and the jays today.....i mean come onnnn....8 losses in a row.....this is rediculous. For hockey, definitely expect detroit to close it out here, but i would bet under on the goals. Most likely 4-1 or 3-2 score line. As far as for the rest of baseball...i will take the red sox, cubs, st louis cardinals, and new york yankees all on the money line. thanks fellas.
Rough start out of the gate, but I'm looking to get back in the saddle tonight. Put me down for Denver at +6 and over 209.5, lock it up!
ReplyDeleteSome afternoon baseball on the money line:
ReplyDeleteToronto over Baltimore - Roy Halladay stops the bleeding. He's used to this and he's been doing it for years. *****pick
St. Louis over Milwaukee - No Ryan Braun and that lineup is easier to pitch around. ***pick
Detroit over Kansas City - I like the under play here as well (9 runs), but I'll go with the side and Porcello. ****pick
And for tonight:
PHILLY over Florida - Burke Badenhop is a gas can looking for a match. If he sees the 5th inning, it's because Freddie Gonzalez has no one else to turn to in that fearsome Marlins "bullpen". The over is an excellent play to pair with this (10 runs), but again, I'll take the side with confidence. *****pick
Cincy/Houston Under 10 - I like the under here mainly because of Arroyo's sharpness of late and Paulino has pitched well, but gets some of the least run support in the majors. Plus, the game's NOT in Houston, where it's like tee ball on a launching pad.
I also like Red Wings/Blackhawks over 5.5 goals tonight. Chicago will be hurling the puck at the net to avoid elimination and will take some chances. Detroit's too good and will score off those mistakes, and they'll probably wrap it up tonight. I don't feel as confident about the side in this one, though, as I feel the over is the better play in an elimination game (see ORL/CLE last night). Should the Blackhawks eke out that 4-3 victory in Game 5, they'll lose Game 6 and we'll have a rematch of last year's Stanley Cup.
Good luck to all - btw, some of the pickers were chatting yesterday around 4pm EST - pop in to chat, and throw your two cents in!
Well, the Mets actually pulled it off last night. Avoided the bandwagon, and this one came in. Also, it looks like Lebron is going to be watching his commercials with Kobe at home!!!
ReplyDeleteFirst off today, Champions League soccer, probably the 2nd most desired trophy in the world. (World Cup first?) Hollywood, I have to correct you just a bit. No team has held the cup back to back in the tournament's current format. However, AC Milan held the title for 1989-90, Bayern Munich won 3 in a row in the 80's, and Real Madrid won 5 in a row back in the 60's. Not impossible...however, I think the safe bet here is over 2.5 goals. Both teams are successful because of their stacked rosters of offensive players. Wide open game that will go 2-1 or 3-2. I also think this game could go extra time and I lost my bet of the UEFA Cup Final because of how Vegas grades the bets. Remember when betting, if you are on the ML and it goes extra time, you lose even if your pick eventually wins! Take the over!
In baseball, I have 3 picks because there is a lot of danger on today's board, IMHO.
1. Blue Jays -1.5 - Halladay rarely loses back to back and the Jays need to salvage a game here.
2. Phillies -1.5 - One word, one name - Badenhop. This guy is a Juggs pitching machine and the Phillies are going to take BP today.
3. Mets -1.5 - Santana. Lock. Mets win.
The rest of the games make me nervous. Good luck all!
